26 Weeks and Counting......

Hello All,

I had my 26 week appointment yesterday. All is well. The nurse said I had a very pretty stomach. Now that is a new one. Too bad she was not referring to a great "six pack". Oh well, you take what you can. I am measuring right where I should be at this point. His heartbeat was good. He kicked the wand when the nurse put it on my stomach. Matt felt him kick for the first time last week. That was fun. We both cried. So emotional (hormonal)! Just now I was talking to him and he kicked so hard my stomach moved! I love it! I am getting tired again. The heartburn has been AWFUL! They gave me a prescription and it has helped. I actually was able to sleep last night.

Now that my stomach is growing I have more and more people (strangers)approaching me. A man in Wal-mart told me I was very pretty. Creepy or Sweet, you choose. I think he was being nice.

I hope everyone is doing well. Keep in touch. Let me know if you are actually reading this!!!!

Till next time

Here is what everyone has been asking for...PICTURES!

Hi Everyone,

The one thing everyone keeps asking for is pictures of the bump! I am going to add some at the end of this blog.

Matt and I had a wonderful time this past weekend in Marco Island, Florida!! As I had posted earlier, I won an award for overall performance. The best part was that three of my friends from work also won. We spent our days sunning, drinking (virgin Pina Colada's for me), going to the spa, sea shelling and of course eating! The weather was perfect. It was neat for Matt to meet all of the people I talk about all of the time. He was very impressed with everyone. I am lucky to work with such a great group of people. Matt's biggest stress the whole time was having access to a t.v. to watch the basketball games! Fortunately for all involved, he was able to watch UNC kick Louisville butt!

Baby Ryan did very well on the trip. The flight down he balled up in a ball. Not to happy with the change in air pressure. On the way back he did fine, I was miserable. We had to wait on the runway for 2 hrs. for them to fix a mechanical problem and for take off. I was tired, sunburned, cranky and swollen. Plus I had to deal with Matt being sunburned, cranky and impatient.

I am getting kicked more and more every day. Matt has not been able to feel him yet. Any day now.

I hope you enjoy the pics!

It has been a while....

Hello Everyone,

Sorry that it has been so long. I have been busy with work and baby madness! Ryan kicked me for the first time this past Tuesday. One good kick. Then nothing. Very stubborn child. I have had a busy few days traveling. I think he was protesting today. Everytime I sat down today he starting acting up. He has kicked me a bunch today. It feels so weird. I love it though. I was getting very stressed when he would go a few days without moving. Of course, it is the "be careful what you wish for". Now he will keep me up all night. Oh well.....he will be doing that for the rest of my life.

We went last weekend and ordered the baby nursery. If you go to www.munirefurniture.com and click on The Newport Collection you can see his new crib and dressers. We picked the Cherry finish. Hopefully we will have it by mid May.

Between my mom, myself and my mother-in-law we already have lots of cute outfits. Matt thinks we have too much. Nah!

Matt and I are going back to the drawing board to sell our house. We are going with a new real estate agent. On April 1st the sign goes back up. Our luck we will sell the 2nd week in July. Oh Well. We will pray about it and all will work out how it should.

I hope everyone is doing well.

Until next time....

It's A..................................................................

BOY!!!

"THE REAL DEAL"

"SUCKING HIS THUMB"

"RELAXING" Look at that cute nose and mouth. Looks like his Daddy!

Today was the BIG day. The doctor told us, more than once, that he was pleased with his pictures. Everything is developing as it should be. His heart was pumping at 148 bpm. He said that is within normal range for his age.

It was funny, I could not see the screen at first. The tech put the wand on my stomach and right away Matt yells "UH OH" with a big grin on his face. She said, "Yep, it's a boy!" We are both sooooo excited! I am really just happy that he is healthy and growing! Like I have said so many times before, it is the heartbeat that grabs you. This little tiny miracle. He is only 5 ounces and already has fingers, toes, eyes......He was moving around in there. I can not wait to feel it. I have little flutters. His bones are still developing but we could see the major ones. They were unable to get a good look at his hips. We will have the dr. look more closely when he is born. I am not worried.

Other good news...my cousin Samantha in Ky had her third child today. So far, I know it is a boy and he weighed a little over 6 pounds! It is a good day for the Smith girls!

We are still here.....

Hello Family and Friends!

It has been a couple of weeks since I last posted. All is well. The baby seems to be growing quite well. I believe I have officially popped! You just wake up one day and you have this little basketball. I had borrowed pants from friends because maternity pants did not fit, well that lasted about a week. Matt and I went shopping yesterday for the real thing. He is pretty excited that I am showing. We had to show off my new bump at church this morning.

I have signed us up for all the baby classes available at the hospital. Our June will be busy! I signed Matt and his Dad up for "Daddy Boot Camp". They are telling everyone that I am making them go to baby school. Seriously, have they ever even seen a diaper? I think not. They will never admit it, but they are looking forward to it.

I had some exciting news this past week. My company awards the top sales people with a trip each year. This has been a goal of mine for many years and I finally met that goal. On March 27th Matt and I will be going to Marco Island, Fl with the other winners for four days of FUN! There will be an awards banquet, excursions and beach time. What makes it even more exciting is three of my other co-workers won the same award. We plan on having a BIG TIME! This will be a great get away for us before the peanut arrives. Probably our last for a while! Of course, my parents and his parents have great plans for this little one, so we may have more free time then we think.

Next week is the big week. On the 18th we should find out the sex. We will let you know! Everyone seemed to like the pictures. I will do my best to add more. Right now the only pictures I have are of Hallmark stores, so I will try to do better.

I have to go....Matt and the dog are whining for attention and dinner. The baby is not even here yet! Goodness.....

Trip to Elizabeth City

This past weekend I flew over to Elizabeth City (via Norfolk) to visit my best friend Aaron and his family. Aaron and I lived across the street from each other in KY starting in middle school. We never would have thought almost 20 years later I would be changing his kids diapers. Cassie is 2 1/2. We had lots of fun reading books, watching Spongebob Squarepants and eating cupcakes. Logan is 6 weeks old...he slept, ate and peed alot. Aaron and Wendy really wanted me to have the "baby experience". I changed diapers, clothes and walked the floors when he fussed. I loved every minute of it. Was a little freaked out with putting the arms in the sleeves of his outfits and putting his arms in the car seat. I felt like I was going to break his little arms. Here are some pictures from the trip.....

If you notice Baby Logan (as Cassie calls him) is wearing a UK t-shirt. Do not be fooled, he has on UNC pants! The best of both worlds. At least a compromise between Aaron and Stacie. The last picture is a sad good-bye at the airport. Cassie did not want Aunt Stacie to leave.

As far as our little one, I am feeling pretty good. Eating like crazy. Wendy sent me home with some maternity tops and bath stuff for me! Yea! No more presents for the parents once the little one is announced!

Thank you Wendy and Aaron for having me this past weekend. I enjoyed it very much. I miss everyone already. The kids will be so big the next time I see them!

14 Weeks and Counting.....

Today was a great day for our little peanut. We had our monthly doctor's appointment and all is well. We did get to hear the heartbeat. Let me just tell you how great a sound that is. The heartbeat rate is 160bpm, which is strong and healthy. It is funny, once you hit the second trimester you feel so much better. The down side is you no longer feel pregnant! Hearing the heartbeat helps.

I did have a hormonal morning. Matt, the dog and the cat were snapped at. I was in tears over none of my clothes fitting. Matt thought it was funny until he realized I really was upset. Anyway, after a haircut and maternity top shopping all is well in the world. The heartbeat helped too!

Other great news is that my little brother got a promotion at work this week! He has his own office...with a door. Imagine that! I am very proud of him.

I am leaving in the morning to see my friend Aaron and his family. Aaron and I grew up across the street from each other in KY. He has lived all over the world because of his job. Crazy that he is now in my state of NC. Of course, it would be on the complete other side of the state! Him and his wife Wendy have a new baby boy, almost 2 months old and a 2 year old daughter. I am very excited to see them. I can bone up on my diaper changing skills. I am sure Aaron and Wendy will not complain about that...now Logan is another story.

We have a 2nd level ultrasound on February 18th. There are genetic issues with hips in my family. My aunt and I both were born with our hips out of socket. I had to wear a pillow split the first 8 months of my life. Based on this, the Dr. wants a closer look at the baby. I am not worried....we will get to see a clearer picture of the baby and should get a early read on the sex. I will keep you updated.

Until next time....Stacie
